Magda Mensi
Prof. dr. sc. Magda Mensi specijalistica je parodontologije i oralne kirurgije sa Sveučilišta u Bresciji, s više od dva desetljeća iskustva u kliničkom radu, istraživanju i nastavi. Posebno se bavi parodontnim i periimplantatnim bolestima, implantologijom te minimalno invazivnim terapijskim protokolima.
O predavaču
Prof. dr. sc. Magda Mensi specijalistica je parodontologije i oralne kirurgije sa Sveučilišta u Bresciji, gdje više od dva desetljeća sudjeluje u kliničkom radu, istraživanju i akademskoj nastavi. Aktivno se bavi kirurškom i nekirurškom terapijom parodontnih i periimplantatnih bolesti te implantologijom, uz bogato iskustvo rada s kompleksnim i medicinski kompromitiranim pacijentima. Autorica je brojnih znanstvenih radova objavljenih u međunarodnim stručnim časopisima, s posebnim interesom za periimplantitis, parodontologiju, biofilm i minimalno invazivne terapijske protokole. Predaje na poslijediplomskim programima iz parodontologije, implantologije i dentalne higijene, a uz to je i aktivna članica vodećih stručnih organizacija, uključujući SIdP i ITI.

Primordial, Primary and Secondary Prevention in Implant Dentistry:
Biological, Technical and Procedural Aspects
During this lecture, within the limited time available, I will provide an overview of the main biological, surgical, prosthetic and technical principles that enable the clinician to prevent biological complications and ensure long-term implant success. The presentation will then focus on the analysis of patient-related and site-related risk factors that may compromise implant therapy outcomes. Particular attention will be given to biofilm-related aspects and to modern professional techniques for its periodic removal, in accordance with current clinical guidelines, on screw-retained and cement-retained prosthetic crowns as well as full-arch implant-supported prosthetic structures. The selection of materials, instruments and non-surgical approaches plays a crucial role both in primary prevention, aimed at maintaining peri-implant health without damaging prosthetic restorations or implant components, and in the treatment of peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis. Special emphasis will be placed on the Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) protocol, which will be described in detail, with its clinical applications demonstrated through video presentations.
