Shield Technique in Alveolar Ridge Preservation – Preservation of Hard and Soft Tissues
The workshop focuses on a contemporary approach to alveolar ridge preservation using the shield technique with a magnesium membrane, with the aim of maximizing the preservation of alveolar ridge anatomy and the stability of peri-implant soft tissues following tooth extraction.
The practical part of the workshop will demonstrate the use of xenogeneic and allogeneic bone substitutes for preserving alveolar volume, as well as the use of an acellular dermal matrix as an alternative to an autologous soft tissue graft for soft tissue augmentation and stabilization. Particular emphasis will be placed on the proper shaping and positioning of the shield, biomaterial selection, and surgical procedures aimed at achieving a predictable and aesthetically stable outcome.
